“Our office’s Sex Crimes Division is working diligently to bring justice to the victim in this case,” District Attorney Hochman said. “The case remains under investigation, and we encourage anyone with information about the defendant or similar incidents to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.”
Babak Hajhosseini is charged with two felony counts of rape by use of drugs; one felony count of rape of an unconscious or asleep person; one felony count of oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance; three felony counts of oral copulation of an unconscious or asleep person; and one felony count of sodomy of an unconscious person.
Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department said Hajhosseini posted high-paying job listings on recruiting websites to identify potential victims.
Investigators allege he would invite potential victims to work overtime at his home before pressuring them to drink alcohol. Police said in at least one instance, he convinced a woman to drink an alcoholic beverage. When the woman fell unconscious, the 42-year-old doctor allegedly sexually assaulted her and recorded the incident.
If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of 34 years in prison.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Alexander Lara of the Sex Crimes Division and investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Additional victims or anyone with information are asked to contact Detective Esther Lee, LAPD West Bureau, at (213) 473-0447.

We have recovered more than $2.5 billion for victims of sexual assault by doctors In each of these cases we have helped victims and families get justice by conducting a thorough investigation of the doctors and the hospitals or clinics who employed them In many cases we have discovered that administrators and executives know that the perpetrator was a danger and either did nothing or actively covered up the crimes.
