Irvine, California - Attorneys representing an alleged victim of sexual assault by a teacher and coach in the San Bernardino City Unified School District today called upon the District Attorney to open an investigation of the School District to determine whether Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Perry Wiseman had engaged in activities designed to cover-up sexual abuse of children within the District.
Wiseman was arrested on Friday, August 16, 2019, on suspicion of possession and distribution of child pornography. As Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Wiseman was responsible for overseeing the investigation of child abuse charges against district employees.
In a lawsuit filed in April, Indian Springs High School teacher and coach Nicole Kelly was accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy. According to the lawsuit, Nicole Kelly had sexual relations with the boy on numerous occasions on the school campus.
The lawsuit further alleges that Kelly was supervised by Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Perry Wiseman, among others, who concealed her criminal behavior from students, parents, teachers, and law enforcement authorities.
“As Assistant Superintendent in charge of human resources, Wiseman was directly responsible for dealing with complaints of sexual assault or harassment lodged against Nicole Kelly and other school personnel within the District. It is shocking to now learn that Wiseman himself has allegedly been involved in the possession and distribution of child pornography. A full investigation by the District Attorney is required to determine whether Wiseman obstructed the investigation of Nicole Kelly and any other individuals within the School District who may have been accused of sexually abusing our client or other children,” said attorney Morgan Stewart.
