Courtney currently serves as the Co-Liaison Counsel in the thousands of lawsuits pending against Los Angeles County for the rampant sexual abuse of children at Los Angeles County juvenile probation camps and detention centers. Her work was recently featured on ABC News.
Courtney also recently demonstrated incredible tenacity and negotiation acumen by obtaining a groundbreaking settlement against the Southern California Conference of Seventh Day Adventists for the heinous sexual abuse of a young girl by her former teacher at Glendale Adventist Academy.
Prior to joining Manly, Stewart & Finaldi, Courtney served with distinction in the Orange County District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Unit where she exclusively prosecuted felony sexual assaults, including child molestation and forcible sex crimes. Her caseload often involved survivors spanning from infants to elder adults, reflecting the breadth and gravity of her work.
Courtney’s unwavering commitment to serving survivors has been recognized by Waymakers, a prestigious Orange County foundation, which honored her with the Sexual Assault Victim Service Award in 2019. Additionally, she has played a pivotal role in enhancing community safety by providing Sexual Assault Investigations training to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
“Courtney’s 11 years in the DA’s office prosecuting pedophiles, and her absolute commitment to our clients makes her a perfect fit for MSF and the Firm’s future. She has demonstrated her ability as a tough, compassionate, and effective advocate for victims of sexual assault and abuse,” said partner Morgan Stewart.
